Time to be curious at the Gemini Full Moon
Dear Reader,
This week’s Full Moon in Gemini arrives midway through Sagittarius season. As the Sun is moving through the sign of the archer, we’re drawing closer to the Capricorn Solstice—the longest night of the year and the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

Guided by the Super Full Moon in Gemini
The Full Moon occurs at 13 degrees of Gemini on December 5th at 12:15 am (check your local time here). During a Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are directly opposite each other in the sky, and the Moon is at its brightest and fullest. Being a Super Moon, this Full Moon is even brighter—almost as bright as the last one.
The Full Moon perfectly squares the Nodes of the Moon at 13 degrees of Virgo and Pisces, indicating that we’re halfway between eclipse seasons, and connecting this lunation to a bigger fork-in-the-road moment in our stories.
With the Moon at the North bending (90 degrees from the North Node), this lunation asks us to build trust in the greater currents that guide our lives (Pisces) by keeping an open mind about where our story is going and allowing ourselves to follow new clues (Gemini).
With the Moon coming into an opposition with Mars in Sagittarius next, echoing Mars’ square with Saturn in Pisces, the choices we’re asked to make right now require our willingness to persevere in the face of crushing self-doubt, paralyzing fear, or burning frustration.
The Mars-Saturn square, which will perfect on December 9th, creates a stop-and-start situation. Things might feel tense, or we might feel stuck. The trick is to remember what we’re burning for and stay in the game until it’s over.
Mars will then square Neptune in Pisces on December 14th, asking us to act on our intuition and let go of any attachments to the results. If you find yourself questioning whether what you're doing is worth your effort, or if you’re feeling burnt out, replenish yourself by getting still and turning inward.
Mercury, the ruler of Gemini and guiding deity of this Full Moon, is in late Scorpio. Having stationed direct on November 29th, Mercury is moving into a trine with Jupiter in Cancer and with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces—completing the grand water trine for the third and final time.
Over the past couple of months, this abundance of water energy has hopefully brought flow and healing to our emotions. Mercury, reappearing as a morning star, is here to bring understanding to this process and put it into words. Because Mercury also opposes Uranus in Taurus, we can make breakthroughs in our communications as we clear emotional debris.
