Libra Full Moon: Time to honor our relationships
Dear Reader,
Today brings us a Full Moon in Libra, marking the halfway point of the lunar cycle that began at the New Moon in Pisces on March 19th. Like reaching the peak of a mountain, it’s a time to pause and take in the view: looking back at what the last two weeks have been like, checking in with where we are now, and getting a sense of how we want to move through the rest of this cycle.

Guided by the Full Moon in Libra
The Full Moon peaks at 12 degrees of Libra today, April 2nd, at 4:12 am CEST, shining a light on our relationships and how we balance self and other. It arrives midway through Aries season, which runs from March 20th to April 20th, and helps us balance our need to stand on our own two feet (Aries) with our need to share this life with others (Libra).
Jupiter exalted in Cancer
The Full Moon closely squares Jupiter, which puts our relationships under a magnifying glass and is likely to bring up some big emotions. Jupiter in Cancer wants us to grow by widening our circle of care. At this Jupiterian Full Moon, we can find meaning and purpose through our one-on-one connections and through including needs and feelings other than our own.
Mercury in Pisces closely trines Jupiter (exact on April 3rd), which helps us keep an open mind and open heart as we navigate what’s coming up in our relationships. This is Mercury’s final trine with Jupiter, giving us a third pass at something that first made itself known around February 16th and again around March 9th, helping us reach for more expansive, generous, or inspired ways of communicating.
Venus at home in Taurus
Venus, the ruler of Libra and presiding deity of this Full Moon, is newly in its own sign of Taurus, offering stability and creativity. Venus in this fixed earth sign is helping us to slow down and get grounded, orient toward beauty (and the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible), and find pockets of ease and joy. While Venus moves through Taurus (March 30th – April 24th), carve out space for creativity, spend plenty of time in nature, and be with friends — human and more-than-human alike.
Venus closely squares Pluto (exact on April 4th), inviting us to go deeper in relationships and allow them to be transformed. This may mean opening old wounds so they can properly heal, calling our power back, and letting go of the need to control. The next aspect that Venus will make is a sextile with Jupiter, which will go exact on April 13th. Whatever Pluto is digging up, Jupiter isn’t far behind, ready to offer help and hope. This Venus-Jupiter field opens a very creative, collaborative, and expansive pocket of time if we say yes to it — Venus being in its domicile in Taurus and Jupiter in its exaltation in Cancer.
Mercury and Mars sextile Uranus
At the time of the Full Moon, Mercury and Mars are still in Pisces. Mercury is in its post-retrograde shadow until April 9th, leaving Pisces a week later. We’re wrapping up a process of review and reflection that began when Mercury entered Pisces in early February and peaked during Mercury’s retrograde period between late February and mid-March.
Before Mercury and Mars leave Pisces, they cast sextiles to Uranus, which is in the last weeks of its time in Taurus — where it’s been since 2018 — before entering Gemini at the end of April. The Mars-Uranus sextile peaks on April 8th, offering creative breakthroughs and inspired action. The Mercury-Uranus sextile peaks on April 14th and can help us think differently, step outside our usual way of seeing, and land somewhere new.
Stellium in fiery Aries
While today's Full Moon asks us to pause, reflect, and tend to our relationships, we’re already building toward a powerful stellium in Aries, where things get initiated and something new comes into being. This Libra Full Moon is here to help us get right with the people in our lives and find our equilibrium before things accelerate even further.
Mars will enter its home sign of Aries on April 9th, joining Neptune and Saturn and reactivating their conjunction at 0 degrees of Aries, which peaked in February. Between April 9th and May 19th, Mars — the ruler of Aries and host to Saturn and Neptune — will be copresent with both planets, intensifying the disillusion and necessity for new dreams that the Saturn-Neptune conjunction seeded.
Mars will conjoin Neptune on April 13th, helping us turn our dreams into action and move with compassion. Mars in Aries wants to get up and go, eager to take up any challenge, but without having the full picture, Mars’s impulsiveness and impatience can do more harm than good. Sometimes, the right thing to do is nothing. Mars-Neptune is an invitation to work our inner muscles — learning to be still even when activated.
The Mars-Saturn conjunction will peak on April 20th and be felt throughout the month. While collectively this speaks to rising dynamic tension, in our personal lives we can use this energy to confront challenges, push through resistance, and do hard things. Mars-Saturn is a stress test, and what survives it will be stronger.
Mercury enters Aries on April 15th, conjoining Neptune, Saturn, and Mars, channeling all that Aries energy. Six out of ten planets will be in Aries between April 15th and 17th: The Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune, plus Chiron. All of this will be gathered up by the Aries New Moon on April 17th, which will be ruled by Mars in Aries. That’s why our Aries houses are getting a lot of attention this month. If you have any planets or angles in Aries, it’s time to fasten your seat belt!
